Pediatric Acute Care NP Opportunity Boston, MA

Join a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare team in Boston! We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide inpatient pain management coverage at a premier pediatric facility.

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Start Date: August 2026
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (with option to extend)
Specialty: Pediatric Acute Care / Inpatient Pain Management
License Required: Active Massachusetts License
EMR: Epic

Schedule:
• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend coverage is the primary need
• Shift Options:

  • 7:00 AM 7:30 PM

  • 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (highest need)
    • Preferred schedules:

  • Friday Sunday

  • Saturday Monday nights

  • Saturday & Sunday only
    • 2 3 blocked shifts per week
    • No call required

Practice Details:
• Inpatient Pediatric Pain Service
• Patient volume: patients per shift
• Pediatric patient population
• Manage post-surgical pain, cancer pain, sickle cell pain, and other complex pain conditions
• Care for patients on PCA pumps and epidural therapy
• Approximately 50% of patients are critically ill or weaning from sedative medications
• No procedures required

Team & Support:
• Collaborative multidisciplinary environment
• Attending Physician support
• Charge APRN support during daytime hours
• 4 APRNs Monday Saturday
• 3 APRNs on Sundays

Requirements:
Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Minimum 2 years of relevant pediatric pain, critical care, or acute care experience
Active Massachusetts License (required)
PALS Certification
DEA Required
CSR Required
Strong pain management experience
Excellent assessment and clinical decision-making skills
Clear, empathetic communication skills

Credentialing:
• Approximately 60-day credentialing timeframe
• Providers must be prepared to complete credentialing paperwork immediately
• Massachusetts license must be active at submission
• Facility is not accepting providers requiring licensure assistance

Additional Information:
• MMR and Varicella vaccinations required
• COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations required (medical and religious exemptions accepted)
• Rates are all-inclusive; no additional travel reimbursement provided
