The Cancer Institute at a reputable medical center located in Mechanicsville, Virginia is seeking a dedicated Locum Hematology Oncology Physician for immediate and ongoing coverage. This facility provides both inpatient and outpatient services with a focus on adult and geriatric patient populations. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care in Hematology and Oncology.
- Manage both inpatient and outpatient consultations.
- Conduct hospital rounds and respond to call shifts.
- Utilize the Epic EMR system for patient documentation.
- Collaborate with existing medical staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Cover shifts from Friday evening (5 PM) to Monday morning (7 AM).
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Medical Oncology (REQUIRED).
- Board Certified in Hematology (HIGHLY PREFERRED).
- Active Virginia Medical License (REQUIRED).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (REQUIRED).
- Liability coverage of $2.6M/$7.8M as per Virginia statute limitations (REQUIRED if requested by the facility).
License and Certification Requirements:
- Must hold an active VA medical license.
- Must possess current certifications in both Hematology and Oncology.
- BLS certification is required to provide patient care.
