Position Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Surgeon to provide coverage for pediatric patients from newborns through teenagers.
The provider will collaborate with pediatric teams to evaluate, diagnose, and determine surgical needs while managing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care.
Schedule
- Clinic: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Night Call (M F): 8:00 PM 8:00 AM
- Weekend Call (Sat Sun): 24-hour coverage
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage pediatric surgical patients
- Perform surgical procedures as needed
- Provide inpatient rounding on admitted patients
- Handle surgical consults (primarily from the ED)
- Collaborate with pediatric care teams
- Respond to emergency consults within required timeframes
Call Details
- 0 2 calls per day (primarily from Pediatric ED)
- 15-minute max callback time
- 30-minute max response time
- Office support staff available during the day for triage (including RX refills)
Patient Volume
- 0 4 patients per day per provider
- Approximately 8 10 emergent surgeries per year
Requirements
- Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon
- BLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- Active Virginia Medical License
