Hematology/Oncology Outpatient & Call Coverage Locum Description of Work Assignment: Monday Friday outpatient clinic coverage Every other week call rotation (Monday Thursday) During call week, provider will round at the hospital daily (prior to or after clinic) Clinic and hospital located within the same building
Shifts Available: Day shift (clinic) Night call (offsite) Weekend call (if needed) Total shifts needed: 20 per locum
Schedule of Days / Times Needed to Work / Shift Hours: Clinic Hours: Monday Friday, 7:30am 4:40pm Patient Scheduling: 8:00am 3:30pm Rotating night call: Monday Thursday (offsite) Weekend coverage: Not currently required
Call: Offsite night call (phone triage) Less than 5 calls per night on average Patients seen in clinic the following day as needed No requirement to return onsite after hours During call week, provider will conduct hospital rounding and complete admits/consults
Patient Load: patients per day (full-time equivalent) Appointment Template: New Patients: 45 minutes Follow-Up Visits: 15 minutes
Unit Details: Primary focus on Oncology patients Infusion Center onsite (Chemo support available) Locum will not be sole provider Daily NP support
Board Status Requirement (BC/BE): Board Certified required Must be BC in BOTH Medical Oncology and Hematology If completed combined Hem/Onc fellowship, BC in one specialty acceptable
Licensure Requirement: Kentucky license or Compact license preferred (due to privileging timeline)
Required Certifications: BLS or ACLS DEA Certificate
EMR System: EPIC (experience required)
Case Log Expectations: Demonstrated current competence with inpatient or consultative services for at least twenty-four (24) Hematology/Oncology patients within the past 12 months OR Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA residency or clinical fellowship within the past 12 months
