Opportunity:

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)


Job Details:

  • 13-week contract with options to extend

  • Schedule consists of (4) 10-hour shifts or (3) 12-13 hour shifts per week, plus 1 rotating Saturday each month

  • Weekly availability required; preference given to candidates who do not rotate weeks on/weeks off

  • Weekend availability preferred including Saturdays and Sundays when possible

  • All time off requests must be made upfront; time off exceeding 5 consecutive days will not be approved during summer months

  • No call required

  • Patient population ranges from age 13 through end of life

  • Level 1 trauma center with a team of 60 CRNAs, approximately 70 attending anesthesiologists, and 60 anesthesia residents

  • Anesthesia team covers 33 ORs in the main OR, 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, and 3-4 stand-alone GI center rooms

  • Practice locations include the main OR, outpatient surgery center, and endoscopy center with the option to practice at any location

  • Inpatient and outpatient practice setting

  • Cases will not include open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, or performing peripheral nerve blocks

  • All CRNA scopes of practice required

  • EMR system: Epic (preferred experience)

  • Hospital bed size: 600 beds

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required; academic background and Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred

  • Outpatient-only candidates will be considered but recent inpatient experience is preferred

  • Board certification required

  • Virginia state license required

  • ACLS and BLS certifications must be valid and completed through the American Heart Association (AHA)

  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates will be considered

  • Two professional references or reference contact information must be provided with submittal

    This is a large academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center with 600 beds, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services across a wide range of specialties. The anesthesia department is robust, featuring a collaborative team environment with CRNAs, attending anesthesiologists, and anesthesia residents working together across multiple clinical settings including main operating rooms, outpatient surgery centers, offsite anesthesia locations, and a GI center. The facility supports a diverse patient population and offers exposure to a broad scope of anesthesia practice.
