Pulmonologist Critical Care

Reports To: Clinical Leadership
1. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care services within a hospital employed model. The role includes oversight of an ICU, outpatient clinic responsibilities, and participation in a structured rotation between critical care and ambulatory practice. The physician will join a multidisciplinary team supporting a high acuity patient population with access to advanced technology and a strong hospitalist program.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide comprehensive pulmonary and critical care services
• Oversee an 18 bed closed ICU caring for medical and surgical patients
• Participate in a 1:4 call rotation
• Rotate one week in the ICU and three weeks in the outpatient clinic
• Conduct outpatient pulmonary evaluations and follow up care
• Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams
• Utilize advanced technology supporting lung cancer care
• Participate in teaching within an internal medicine residency program
• Maintain accurate documentation within the organization s industry standard EMR
• Support quality, safety, and patient care initiatives
3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine
4. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Interest in teaching residents

6. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide inpatient critical care management in a closed ICU
• Deliver outpatient pulmonary care 4.5 days per week with 0.5 administrative time
• Participate in ICU and clinic rotation (1 week ICU / 3 weeks clinic)
• Manage high acuity pulmonary and critical care cases
• Collaborate with hospitalists providing 24/7 support
• Engage in teaching activities with internal medicine residents
7. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in teaching within an internal medicine residency program
• Engage in academic activities if desired

• Multidisciplinary team including intensivists, hospitalists, and residents
• Closed ICU environment with medical and surgical patients
• Outpatient pulmonary clinic with dedicated administrative time

• Strong hospitalist program providing continuous inpatient support
9. SCHEDULE & CALL REQUIREMENTS
• Full time schedule
• One week ICU / three weeks clinic rotation
• Clinic schedule: 4.5 days clinical, 0.5 days administrative
