  • Support Staff Available: NPs and PAs (MD required to supervise)
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • Vent management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (ABIM, ABFM, ABMS)
  • Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License
  • DEA / CDS: Active DEA with VA address (schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5)
  • Certifications: ACLS
  • Experience: Residency trained in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; Graduate of accredited medical school (MD/DO)
  • Other Qualifications: Case logs from past 2 years; ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates; Must be willing to supervise NPs/PAs
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide 12-hour in-house hospitalist coverage on a 7 on/7 off schedule
  • Admit and manage acute care patients, including those in ICU/PCU beds
  • Manage ventilator settings and respiratory care for ventilated patients
  • Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants
  • Coordinate with tele-support for admissions, floor calls, and night coverage
