Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a locums opportunity providing overnight coverage in a busy emergency department. This role is ideal for providers experienced in high-acuity settings who are comfortable working independently during late-night hours.

• September 16 September 24: 10:30 PM 7:30 AM
• October 11 October 20: 10:30 PM 7:30 AM
• December 10 December 16: 10:30 PM 7:30 AM

Ongoing Need:

• Minimum 12 shifts (108 hours) per month starting December
• Potential for additional future dates

• Provide emergency medical care for acute and urgent conditions
• Perform rapid assessments, diagnostics, and treatment planning
• Stabilize and manage critically ill patients
• Coordinate care with ED staff and consulting providers
• Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge plans
• Document care using EPIC EMR

• Approximate volume: 2 patients per hour overnight
• Annual ED volume: 42,000 visits
• Coverage model:
  • Double/triple coverage until 2:00 AM
  • Single provider coverage from 2:00 AM 6:00 AM
  • Backup physician available remotely for consult
• Limited need to float to satellite location

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years) in Emergency Medicine
  • ABEM or AOBEM required
• Active or eligible for Indiana medical license (IMLC accepted)
• Active DEA and CSR
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must be available for required shift dates

• No temporary privileges available
• No formal orientation required
