INTERNAL MEDICINE GASTROENTEROLOGY

POSITION SUMMARY
The organization seeks a Gastroenterology physician to provide inpatient only GI care within a hospital based service. The role includes a 7 on/7 off schedule with no additional call requirements. Outpatient work is optional. The position offers access to procedure rooms, recovery bays, and modern documentation technology designed to improve workflow and patient throughput.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine and/or Gastroenterology.
• Residency training in Internal Medicine.
• Fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New Mexico.
• Ability to perform inpatient GI evaluations and procedures.
• Experience with EUS or ERCP is preferred but not required.
COMPETENCIES
• Skill in managing acute gastrointestinal conditions in hospitalized patients.
• Ability to perform inpatient GI procedures.
• Capacity to collaborate with hospital based teams and clinical staff.
• Strong communication and clinical decision making abilities.
• Proficiency using industry standard EMR systems.
