Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 2 days per week
Assignment Details:
- The ideal candidate is a board-certified Gastroenterologist with solid outpatient experience managing common GI issues. They should be comfortable evaluating abdominal complaints, chronic GI diseases, and reviewing basic GI diagnostics.
- Because no procedures are performed onsite, strong clinic-based consult skills and the ability to work independently in a correctional setting are essential.
- The locum will run onsite GI clinics within Connecticut DOC facilities, seeing new consults and follow-ups. Duties include assessing GI symptoms, managing chronic conditions, reviewing outside imaging or endoscopy reports, adjusting medications, and advising staff on triage and referral needs for offsite procedures. All care is outpatient and non-procedural within the prison clinic setting.
