The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) position in Springfield, Illinois, involves providing specialized care within a Level I trauma center ICU. This role requires delivering high-quality patient care to critically ill adult patients, including trauma, burn, medical, and cardiac overflow cases. Candidates are expected to bring their Illinois nursing license on the first day of the assignment. The position is scheduled for night shifts, and flexibility around floating within scope is provided to meet the facilitys operational needs.
Job Details:
- Location: Springfield, Illinois
- Shift: 3x12 Nights (6:45 PM 7:15 AM)
- Schedule: Nights, Minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: IL license; Certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), TNS (Trauma Nursing Society); Minimum 1 year ICU experience; Cerner charting system experience; Prior experience in adult neuro, medical, or surgical ICU preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Post Craniotomy, Post Neurosurgery management, Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization, Neuro ICU, and trauma/burn ICU.
- Additional Information: The role involves managing ports, arterial lines, chest tubes, ventilators, PICC lines, and participating in complex critical care procedures such as ICP monitoring, CVA management, and hypothermia protocols. The position requires handling multi-organ dysfunction, trauma, and stroke patients, with on-call duties and floating to other ICU units as needed.
- Certifications required upon submission: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, TNS.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience required, with 18 months in a unit-specific role preferred.
- Candidate must have active IL license and be able to work scheduled shifts on 07/06/2026.
