Nocturnist Physician

• admitting and managing adult hospitalized patients, responding to urgent clinical events, and ensuring safe handoffs to the daytime hospitalist team.

• Provide comprehensive overnight medical care for adult inpatients.

• Evaluate, admit, diagnose, and manage patients from the Emergency Department and interfacility transfers.

• Respond to clinical changes, rapid response calls, and code blue events as needed.

• Manage patients on the Hospital Medicine service during overnight hours.

• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests, imaging, medications, and consultations.

• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, specialists, and other care team members.

• Escalate care and facilitate transfers to higher levels of care when clinically appropriate.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

• Active or eligible state medical license.

• DEA registration or eligibility.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.

  Work Environment

  • Overnight hospital coverage.
  • Practice in an acute care hospital setting with varying levels of patient acuity.

  Physical & Professional Requirements

  • Ability to work overnight shifts.
  • Ability to respond promptly to urgent and emergent situations.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and hospital communication tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
