NEUROLOGY VASCULAR NEUROLOGY

POSITION SUMMARY

The Department seeks a vascular neurology specialist to join an inpatient neurohospitalist program providing consultation only neurologic care. The role supports a Primary Stroke Certified hospital pursuing Comprehensive Stroke Certification and offers a predictable schedule without night responsibilities, with overnight coverage provided through a telemedicine partner. The position emphasizes high quality inpatient neurologic consultation within a collaborative neuroscience team.



QUALIFICATIONS

• Board eligible or board certified in Neurology and/or Vascular Neurology.
• Residency training in neurology.
• Fellowship training in vascular neurology.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New Mexico.
• Ability to independently interpret MRI and CT imaging.
• Interest in inpatient neurologic consultation within a structured rotation.



COMPETENCIES

• Ability to evaluate and manage acute and complex cerebrovascular conditions.
• Skill in providing inpatient neurologic consultation in collaboration with hospitalists.
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary stroke and neurohospitalist teams.
• Commitment to patient centered, evidence based neurologic care.
• Capacity to support a rotation based schedule without night coverage.



WORK SETTING & ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment: Hospital; Inpatient
• Consultant only inpatient neurology role within a neurohospitalist program.
• Primary Stroke Certified hospital pursuing Comprehensive Stroke Certification.
• Overnight coverage provided by a telemedicine partner.
• Collaboration with neurohospitalists, stroke neurology, and hospital medicine teams.
• Access to advanced imaging tools and industry standard EMR.
