Opportunity:Physician (MD) - Orthopaedic Surgery
Job Details:- General orthopedic surgery coverage with 24-hour call responsibilities
- Dates of coverage: June 29, 7A - July 1, 7A
- Expect 0-3 consults per day
- Expect 0-2 ED visits per day for closed reductions and admissions
- Expect 0-2 surgeries per day including wrist, ankle, and hip fractures and I&D
- Long bone trauma is stabilized and transferred
- Provider must be within 20 minutes of the hospital at all times while on call
- Active NC license and NC DEA (with NC address) required
- Board certification required; please include NPI# in candidate bid
- Provider must be vaccinated
- Must be credentialed with Medicaid/Medicare and enrolled with PECOS as a provider
- Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS
- Facility is transitioning to Meditech Expansion during coverage period
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: 5 days
- Required specialty skills include:
- Arthroscopy
- Total joint replacement (hip, knee, and other)
- Joint revision or repair (shoulder, hip, knee, and other)
- Hand surgery
- Tendon release/repair
- Peripheral nerve surgery
- Spinal surgery with instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
- Spinal surgery without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
- Percutaneous disc surgery - Onsite hospital-owned apartments provided - clean, private, with cable and Wi-Fi
- Travel expenses capped at $500 including airfare, rental car, or mileage (not both)
Compensation:Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
