Job description

This is a hospital-based Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) locum opportunity offering 8-hour shifts with the potential to transition into a permanent position after six months. Providers will work in a collaborative surgical environment supporting multiple specialties across main operating rooms and endoscopy suites while utilizing Meditech Expanse EMR. Travel expenses are reimbursed, making this an attractive opportunity for both local and out-of-state candidates.

Dates/Schedule
  • Contract Length: 6 months with potential locum-to-permanent conversion after 6 months
  • Shift Length: 8-hour shifts
  • Guaranteed Hours: 8 hours per day
  • Estimated Credentialing Time: Approximately 90 days
Job Details & Responsibilities Practice Setting
  • Hospital-based anesthesia practice covering:
    • 9 Main Operating Rooms
    • 5 Endoscopy suites
  • Documentation/EMR: Meditech Expanse
  • Trauma designation: Level III
  • Collaborative OR team environment
Clinical Volume
  • Main OR: Approximately 3-5 surgical cases per day
  • Endoscopy: Approximately 12-15 cases per day
Anesthesia Model
  • CRNAs work in a supervised practice model
Procedures & Case Mix

Providers will administer anesthesia for a wide range of procedures, including:

  • Adult general surgical cases
  • Pediatric general surgical cases
  • Obstetrical cases
  • Neurosurgical cases
  • IV regional anesthesia
  • Spinal anesthesia
  • Epidural anesthesia
  • Regional anesthesia techniques
Required Skills & Qualifications Required
  • Board Certified CRNA (AANA)
  • Active Massachusetts license or willingness to obtain one
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
Preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience (new graduates may still be considered)
Ideal Candidate
  • Comfortable managing diverse adult and pediatric surgical cases
  • Experienced with regional anesthesia techniques
  • Able to work effectively within a supervised, team-based anesthesia environment
  • Interested in potential long-term employment after the initial locum assignment
