ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide temporary coverage within a hospital-based anesthesiology team. This role focuses on delivering anesthesia care in a Level 1 trauma center, primarily for adult patients with some pediatric exposure. The CRNA will work under supervision, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Dates / Schedule - Temporary locum assignment (coverage for staff leaves and vacations)
- Day shifts only: 8, 10, or 12 hours
- No on-call or weekend requirements
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: days
Job Details / Responsibilities - Provide anesthesia care for inpatient procedures, including general surgery, neurosurgery, and deep sedation/MAC cases
- Perform preoperative assessments and educate patients on anesthesia plans
- Administer and monitor anesthesia throughout surgical procedures
- Manage ventilation and support physician-administered regional anesthesia
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff
- Respond to emergencies and participate in critical care situations
- Accurately document anesthesia care using Epic EMR
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with NBCRNA certification
- Active Michigan RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA)
- Prior experience required (new graduates not accepted)
- Clean malpractice and license history
- Fully licensed providers only (no pending licenses)
- Willingness to work flexible day shifts (8 12 hours)
- Must be eligible for locum (temporary) work, not permanent placement
