Medix has partnered with a client to staff a Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner. This high-intensity position splits time between assisting in open-heart and vascular procedures in the operating room, managing inpatient rounds within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and handling pre-operative clinic workflows.Essential Responsibilities:
Performing active vein, arterial, and radial artery harvesting during surgeries.
Assisting in 1 to 2 heart surgeries per day, with an average monthly volume of 20 to 30 cases.
Rounding on post-operative patients in the hospital and managing complex care within the ICU.
Coordinating patient discharges, writing necessary prescriptions via DEA clearance, and reviewing diagnostic stress tests in the clinic.
