Job Details:
Gastroenterology coverage required with ERCP experienceMonday through Friday schedule with 9-hour shifts including 1-hour lunch (8 hours billable) and 15-hour overnight call shiftsWeekend call coverage of 24 hours requiredProvider will be responsible for all charting and work completion without a scribe or assistantProvider will review all pathology and communicate patient result letters and follow-up recommendations with nursing staffComplete block coverage required; only providers with full availability for all dates needed will be consideredAverage of 12 patients per day for procedures with additional inpatient responsibilitiesProcedures include EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, PEG/PEG-J tube placement, ERCP, and EUS4 procedure rooms/Endo Suites available with Olympus equipment, hydrogen breath testing, and capsule endoscopyPropofol utilized for proceduresElectronic health record systems include Cerner, gGastro, and AthenaBoard certification required; fellowship training requiredRequired certifications include ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLSTrauma Level 2 facilityRequired skills include upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery, variceal injection, ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic), PEG placement, esophageal dilatation/manometry, small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy, and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)Facility:
This is a well-established healthcare facility in Michigan featuring a highly accomplished Endoscopy Unit team. The facility operates four dedicated procedure rooms and Endo Suites equipped with advanced Olympus technology, hydrogen breath testing, and capsule endoscopy capabilities. As a Level 2 trauma center, the facility provides comprehensive gastroenterology services and supports a high-volume, efficient clinical environment with a collaborative nursing and medical staff team.
