Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Overview:
A hospital-based opportunity is available for a Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide coverage during a temporary leave. This role includes surgical cases, rounding responsibilities, and collaboration with a well-supported cardiac care team.
Compensation:
$500/hr
Assignment Dates:
- June 1, 2026 July 13, 2026
Schedule:
- Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
- Call: TBD (estimated shifts per month)
Practice Details:
- Setting: Hospital-based
- Rounding required
- EMR: Cerner (PowerChart)
- 11 general operating rooms
- 2 cardiovascular operating rooms
- Trauma Level: II (at one campus)
Support Staff:
- Physician Assistant support in the OR
- Nurse Practitioners
- CTICU Intensivist coverage
Case Volume & Scope:
- Average 1 case per day
- Adult cardiac surgery
Procedures Include:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Off-pump CABG
- Arterial revascularization (including internal mammary, radial, and gastroepiploic arteries)
- Redo coronary revascularization (with or without valve surgery)
- Pericardial window procedures
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery Required
- Fellowship Trained Required
- Active New Jersey License Required
- ACLS Required
- BLS Required
Credentialing:
- Estimated timeframe: 30 days
