PATIENT INFORMATION
  • Patient Demographics: 50% low risk pregnancy, 50% high risk pregnancy; 60% GYN
  • Average Daily Volume: 14-16 scheduled patients per day (clinic)
  • Admissions: 1 nursery admission per day
  • Case Mix: Full-spectrum OB/GYN including routine and high-risk deliveries, gynecological surgeries, and office procedures

  • Support Staff Available: Clinic: 1 MA, 1 triage nurse; Birth Center: RNs as needed; CNMs often take primary call

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
Required Obstetrics Procedures
  • Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.)
  • FHR Interpretation - NST/CST/FSE
  • OB ultrasounds - Performance of Interpretation
  • OB ultrasounds - Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability)
Labor and Delivery Required Procedures
  • Routine Delivery -Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section
  • Complicated Delivery -C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.
  • VBAC's
  • Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations
Gynecology Required Procedures
  • Office/Minor Gynecology -IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.
  • Surgical Gynecology - Open
  • Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only-Tubal Ligation, LOA's, Chromal Tubation
  • Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic) - Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOA's
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: Board Certified in OB/GYN
  • Licenses: Active Vermont License or Universal License (IMLC) (or willing to obtain)
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP
  • Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice history preferred; NPDB self-query report required at presentation
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide 24-hour and 12-hour call coverage for OB/GYN services including labor and delivery management, emergency C-sections, and gynecological emergencies.
  • Perform routine and complicated deliveries, including VBACs, multiple births, and repair of lacerations.
  • Conduct inpatient rounds and nursery admissions.
  • Perform gynecological surgeries, including laparoscopic and open procedures, as well as office-based procedures (IUD, colposcopy, LEEP, etc.).
  • Collaborate with certified nurse midwives, nursing staff, and support team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
