Mercy Medical Center in Redding, CA is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neonatologist for an ongoing, highly structured monthly locum assignment in their Level III NICU. This opportunity offers predictable dates, strong clinical support, and a stable NICU census of 7 12 patients per day.
Schedule Setting Level III NICU within a Level II Trauma Center
EMR: Cerner Care
Support Staff: NICU nurses, Family Practice Residents (teaching/supervision), Laborists, Pediatric Hospitalists
No APP support
Required Skills & Procedures Candidates must be fully comfortable with high-acuity neonatal care, including:
Ventilatory assistance (ETT CPAP)
Nasal CPAP >4 hrs / >6 cm H2O / FiO2 >0.60
Surfactant administration (beyond initial dose)
Administration of cardiac pressors
Management of FiO2 >0.60
PaCO >50 on serial ABGs
Peripheral arterial or central line placement
Chest tube placement
TPN hyperalimentation
Exchange transfusion

Credentialing Estimated timeframe: 30 days (temporary privileges available if eligible)
Must hold active staff privileges at a TJC-accredited facility (NOT currently working only as locum)
No significant malpractice or privilege actions
Must be paneled with California Children Services (CCS) at time of submission
