What You ll Do
- Provide comprehensive eye exams and vision tests
- Diagnose and treat common eye conditions
- Prescribe corrective lenses and medications
- Collaborate with clinic staff and support Spanish-speaking patients (highly preferred)
- Document patient care accurately using EMR systems
- Educate patients on eye health and safety
- Participate in shadowing and training (one week of EMR training included)
What You Need
Required: - Pennsylvania state optometry license
- At least 2 years of experience in optometry
- Bilingual skills in Spanish (preferred)
- Drive-in candidates preferred
- Background clear for credentialing
- COVID vaccination
Preferred: - Experience working in community health or FQHC clinics
About the Assignment
This position is at a reputable hospital in Allentown, PA, serving as a new clinic with general cases. The clinic will initially see approximately 32 patients daily at other locations, with a focus on comprehensive eye care and patient education. The provider will contribute to establishing the patient volume and clinic workflow.
