Job description

Family Medicine Physician
Outpatient-Focused Practice with Limited Inpatient Rounding
Hawthorne, New Jersey

Our client, a well-established, physician-led healthcare organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care, is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join its team in Northern New Jersey. This opportunity offers the ability to practice relationship-based medicine in a supportive environment that prioritizes quality over volume, physician autonomy, and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality outpatient primary care with an emphasis on continuity, preventive care, chronic disease management, and building long-term patient relationships.

  • Participate in limited inpatient rounding for established patients, approximately two half-days per week, helping maintain continuity of care across settings.

  • Collaborate with a strong clinical support team, including Physician Assistants who manage the majority of urgent calls and outpatient triage.

  • Develop and grow areas of clinical interest, including women's health, office-based procedures, preventive medicine, and other specialty interests aligned with your expertise.

  • Utilize Athenahealth EMR and AI-supported documentation tools designed to streamline workflows and reduce administrative burden.

  • Deliver thoughtful, comprehensive care in a practice environment that averages approximately 2-3 patients per hour, allowing time to focus on quality outcomes and meaningful patient interactions.

  • Participate in a flexible scheduling model that includes one late evening per week with an adjusted start time.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree.

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine.

  • Open to experienced physicians as well as 2026 residency graduates.

  • Comfortable managing both outpatient and limited inpatient clinical responsibilities.

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented practice environment.

Some of the Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package with productivity and quality-based incentives.

  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and malpractice coverage.

  • Generous paid time off, CME allowance, dedicated CME time, and reimbursement for licensure, DEA, and professional memberships.

  • 401(k) plan with employer match.

  • Flexible scheduling designed to support work-life balance.

  • Strong clinical and administrative support, including advanced technology resources that help minimize after-hours charting and administrative workload.

  • Clear pathway to partnership/shareholder opportunities and long-term leadership growth within a physician-led organization.

  • Established patient base and a stable practice environment focused on quality care rather than high-volume throughput.

  • Located in a family-friendly Northern New Jersey community with convenient access to New York City, excellent schools, diverse neighborhoods, and abundant recreational opportunities.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate with experience, training, and qualifications. Additional details regarding compensation and incentives are available upon request.
