Pediatric opening in TexasFull timeHouston, TXPosition Type: Full-TimeCompensation: Salary based on experienceRole OverviewProvide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescentsDiagnose, treat, and help prevent pediatric illnesses and injuriesMonitor growth and development through routine evaluationsDeliver both preventive care and chronic disease managementServe a diverse, community-based patient populationKey ResponsibilitiesPerform physical exams, patient histories, and diagnostic evaluationsDiagnose and treat: Acute illnesses (e.g., infections, flu, pneumonia)Chronic and complex pediatric conditionsAdminister immunizations and preventive care servicesPrescribe medications and therapies per clinical guidelinesEducate families on:Nutrition, hygiene, and safetyDisease prevention and wellnessMonitor patient progress and adjust treatment plansMaintain accurate documentation and close charts within 48 hoursRefer patients to specialists when neededAdditional DutiesParticipate in:Quality improvement and compliance initiativesCommunity outreach and health education programsPeer review and clinical team collaborationSupervise medical students and residents when assignedParticipate in on-call rotation and Saturday clinicsWork across multiple clinic sites as neededQualificationsMD or DO from an accredited medical schoolCompleted pediatric residency trainingBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics (within 2 years if BE)Active, unrestricted Texas Medical LicenseCurrent DEA registrationBLS & PALS certification requiredUnderstanding of Texas mandated reporting lawsExperiencePediatric or community health experience preferredNew graduates welcomePreferred SkillsBilingual abilities (Spanish, Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.)Strong communication, public speaking, and patient education skillsAbility to work effectively with culturally diverse populationsPractice EnvironmentMission-driven community health center (FQHC)Focus on underserved populations and preventive careCollaborative, team-based clinical settingOpportunities for community engagement and outreachHighlightsBroad-scope pediatric practice (acute, chronic, preventive care)Strong community impact and mission focusSupportive, team-oriented cultureTeaching opportunities with students and residents
