Cardiologist Electrophysiologist

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Salary range: $320,000 - $390,000 per year
  • Location: Jackson, Mississippi
  • Full-Time Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm including call coverage and weekend rounding as needed (Alternate schedules may be necessary to meet the needs of the organization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive electrophysiologic studies and evaluations of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative care of patients undergoing electrophysiological procedures.
  • Perform advanced electrophysiology procedures, including but not limited to, catheter ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and device management.
  • Assess patients for suitability for various electrophysiologic therapies and make recommendations based on evidence-based guidelines.
  • Evaluate and manage patients in outpatient and inpatient settings who present with complex arrhythmias and other related cardiovascular conditions.
  • Interpret electrocardiograms (ECG), Holter monitors, event monitors, and other related diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the cardiology team and other healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, fellows, and nursing staff in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac electrophysiologic disorders.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with the latest advancements in electrophysiology through participation in professional societies, conferences, and other educational opportunities.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and committees as required by the department and facility.
  • Ensure the proper documentation of patient interactions, procedures, and treatment plans in accordance with VA policies and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of clinical protocols and standards within the electrophysiology service.
