Position Overview We are seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania. This role focuses on weekend 24-hour call coverage, managing urgent cardiac surgical cases in a high-acuity hospital setting with strong team support.
Key Responsibilities - Provide cardiothoracic surgical coverage during on-call shifts ️
- Perform urgent and emergent cardiac surgeries (cath lab OR)
- Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, including ICU cases
- Oversee patient progression from ICU to discharge
- Collaborate with PAs, hospital staff, and multidisciplinary teams ️ ️
- Ensure accurate documentation using EPIC EMR

Schedule Highlights - Start Date: May 10, 2026
- Ongoing assignment
- 3 weekends per month ️
- Shift: Friday 12 PM Monday 7 AM
- 24-hour call coverage throughout the weekend
Qualifications - MD/DO degree
- Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Active Pennsylvania medical license (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- DEA certification required
Preferred Experience - Strong background in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
- Comfortable managing urgent/emergent surgical cases independently
- Experience with ICU-level patient management
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR system
