    The Anchorage, Alaska-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing specialized care on a stepdown unit from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role requires candidates to demonstrate proficiency in complex medical procedures, telemetry monitoring, and advanced patient management. Candidates are required to bring their Alaska RN license on the first day of employment. This is a 13-week assignment with an immediate start date, offering the choice of 12-hour night shifts.
    Job Details:

    • Location: Anchorage, Alaska
    • Shift: 4x12 or 3x12 night shifts (traveler's choice)
    • Schedule: 48 hours per week minimum
    • Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska RN license (pending license accepted but must have license in hand for Auto Offer), BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, 1 year of experience as a PCU RN with Epic EMR experience, no minimum experience requirement, and the ability to work nights.
    • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, IV insulin protocols, and other advanced clinical skills as listed.
    • Additional Information: Applicant must be willing to work two out of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year). All time off must be approved upon offer, and all requested RTO must be included in the application. The assignment involves float within lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical areas, with a focus on cardiac and respiratory patients.
    • Unit Information: A stepdown ICU with a virtual nursing model, utilizing co-care teams of bedside RNs, virtual RNs, and CNAs. The unit manages a wide array of patient populations, including cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and complex medical-surgical cases. Patient ratios are 1:4 during days and nights, 1:6 for CNAs.
    • Additional Clinical Support: Interdisciplinary teams including IV, PT, respiratory, and pharmacy support, with advanced equipment such as Philips monitors and Massimo capnography.
