Position Summary
Stagg & Associates is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a caseload, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, communicating with clients, and representing clients in court proceedings as needed. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain assigned caseloads from intake through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support client matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and legal strategy.
- Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes when appropriate.
- Prepare for and participate in trials and evidentiary hearings.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Maintain accurate case files and comply with all court deadlines.
- Stay informed of changes in applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- 1-2 years of legal experience preferred; qualified recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to client service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in litigation and courtroom appearances.
- Experience handling client consultations and case management.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Familiarity with legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
