Summary of Position

Executes the shipping function, as it relates to requisite paperwork, package preparation, and logistics associated with routing packages to appropriate carriers and time frames.

Essential Job Requirements (MINIMUM):

Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.

Uses knowledge of shipping procedures and routes.

Ensures accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments to include, but not limited to, test reports, material certifications, C of C, etc.

Inspects and counts material/parts set for shipments.

Compiles records of unfilled orders.

Posts weight and shipping charges.

Prepares bills of lading.

Ability to verify inventory accuracy in the function of placing parts/materials into Finished Goods inventory.

Use of ESI2000.

Supplies support to other areas within the department, as necessary or required.

Other duties as required or necessary beyond this scope.

Responsible for conforming to the company's quality system procedures as documented.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High School or GED required. Technical training in inventory functions, or office administration training preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years experience in an inventory-based position, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Knowledge of shipping carriers, and experience in the inventory function of a manufacturing environment preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Analytical and creative skills to find solutions to problems in a real time environment.

Proficient using PC and software applications, i.e., MS Windows, MS Access, MS Excel, Internet, and menu driven programs.

Ability to maintain records and filing system.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Interpersonal/human relations skills

Basic math skills with ability to use a calculator.

Attention to detail.

Sense of Urgency.

Ability to work within a team environment

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Ability to speak clearly, read, write and receive verbal instructions.
