Maintenance Supervisor
You will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on a diverse fleet of heavy equipment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervising, motivating, and developing a team of 8 to 12 people
- Overseeing and continuously improving the preventative maintenance program to maximize equipment reliability and minimize breakdowns
- Planning and scheduling work orders for both in house mechanics and outside contractors
- Diagnosing and directing repairs on heavy and mobile equipment
- Monitoring technician skill sets and developing targeted training plans to strengthen the team
- Managing work order completion and labor productivity using a CMMS platform
- Coordinating with warehouse personnel to ensure parts and materials inventory is accurate and available
- Maintaining strong labor relations, morale, and discipline within the shop
- Ensuring full compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
- Implementing maintenance plans for scheduled repairs, upgrades, and major projects
What You Bring
- 5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial or construction maintenance environment
- 5 years of heavy equipment experience - Liebherr, Sennebogen, or similar machinery strongly preferred
- Welding background is a plus - fabrication and repair experience is valued
- Mobile equipment technician experience highly desirable
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Experience with employee time management systems
- Proven ability to lead a union workforce with professionalism and accountability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage work orders, scheduling, and preventative maintenance programs
- 4 year degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Technical Institute training or certificate of completion is an asset
What to Expect
This is a first shift position running 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM most days. A manager on duty rotation of approximately one weekend every two months. You will be stepping into a fully union environment where strong people skills and technical credibility matter equally.
