Location: Rock Hill, SC
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour (DOE)
Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd Shift (Shift Differential Available)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist (Milling) to join a growing manufacturing team in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This hands-on role is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting CNC milling equipment to produce high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate will have a strong machining background, excellent blueprint reading skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Please Note: Previous CNC machining experience is required. Candidates without CNC machining experience will not be considered.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines using appropriate tooling, fixtures, and raw materials.
- Monitor machine cycles and inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and maintain part accuracy.
- Adjust machine settings, tooling, and offsets as necessary to optimize production and quality.
- Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Accurately document production output, scrap, tool changes, and quality inspections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to support operational goals and process improvements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC tooling, machining processes, cutting parameters, and setup procedures.
- Experience with CNC controls; experience with Heidenhain controls is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proficient with precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work safely around moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
