Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Paralegal with a background in family law and/or bankruptcy to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage a busy caseload, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
- Assist attorneys with case management in family law and bankruptcy matters
- Maintain and organize case files, deadlines, and calendar events
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel professionally
- Prepare filings for state and federal courts (including e-filing)
- Support trial preparation and hearings as needed
Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience in family law and/or bankruptcy required
- Strong working knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with client management software, state e-filing systems, bankruptcy software, legal software and federal filing system, and Microsoft Office
