CNC Lathe Setup/Operator
Location: Kannapolis, NC
Shift: Day Shift
Pay:$23.00 - $27.00 per hour
About the Role
Machine Manufacture is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup / Operator to support precision machining operations. This role requires a hands-on machinist who can independently set up, program at the machine as needed, and operate CNC lathes while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, including complete setupfrom print to first article
- Configure tooling, fixtures, and offsets for production runs
- Operate Doosan 480 and Doosan 420 lathes
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Adjust offsets and tooling to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish
- Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Setup / Operator
- Hands-on knowledge of Doosan 480 and Doosan 420 machines
- Strong understanding of turning operations, tooling, and cutting parameters
- Ability to read complex blueprints and GD&T
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and other inspection tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-mix, low-to-medium volume production
- Basic CNC programming or program editing experience
- Familiarity with tight-tolerance machining
