The JCC of Central NJ is a non-profit agency whose mission is to educate, enrich and empower our community - from generation to generation. The JCC is a membership based, non-profit agency which offers educational, recreational, fitness & wellness, cultural and communal programs and activities to people of all abilities and all stages of life. Summary of Position: The JCC is seeking an energetic and motivating certified Group Fitness Instructor, with a keen understanding of customer service and professionalism, to lead dynamic group fitness classes focused on strength training, toning, and full-body conditioning. This role is perfect for an experienced fitness professional who enjoys helping participants build strength, confidence, and community in a welcoming inclusive environment. This is a part-time, overtime non-exempt position with schedule flexibility, reporting to the Director of Fitness. Daytime, evening and weekend shifts available. Schedule will be determined based on availability and program needs. Key Responsibilities: Lead safe, engaging fitness classes that combine strength training, muscle toning, and light cardio Design class formats adaptable to varying f itness levels and abilities Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and modifications Create a positive, supportive, and motivating class atmosphere Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to safety guidelines Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to lead scheduled classes Communicate professionally with staff, members and participants Positively represent the JCC with professional appearance and conduct Provide the highest quality of customer service to program participants Utilize strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to grow participation Function as a strong team player Qualifications and Skills: Current group fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, etc.) Practical experience in the field preferred CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain (American Red Cross or equivalent) First Aid Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Reliable, professional, and enthusiastic Ability to motivate participants of all ages and abilities Physical Demands: Ability to teach a group fitness class Lift a minimum of 50 pounds from the floor Ability to stand or move for an extended period of time Pay Range: starting at $40 per class Key Benefits: Complimentary membership with fitness and pool access NJ Paid Sick Leave Flexible schedule PIf0b53f8-c143e31-5e48-4549-b2d185386
