Locum - Physician - Emergency Medicine Position in St. Johns, MI
Join a thriving healthcare facility in St. Johns, Michigan, that is dedicated to providing high-quality emergency care. This role is ideal for a board-certified Physician in Emergency Medicine looking for a locum opportunity. The facility boasts a well-functioning Emergency Department with a comprehensive support system, annual ED volume of 13,800 visits, and utilizes Epic EMR for all patient documentation. You will work alongside an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) and have access to various specialists for consults.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide patient assessment and management in the Emergency Department.
- Respond to hospital codes as needed.
- Interpret EKGs; cardiology provides final review.
- Supervise APP during overlapping hours, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Stabilize and transfer OB patients to Sparrow Lansing L&D.
- Manage clinical duties related to patient admissions.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) - REQUIRED
- Active FULL Michigan medical license - No IMLC or Compact license accepted - REQUIRED
- ACLS and ATLS certification - REQUIRED
- Experience in community emergency department settings preferred.
- Ability to supervise Advanced Practice Providers effectively.
- Current NPDB self-query (pulled within 30 days) - REQUIRED
License and Certification Requirements:
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Full Michigan medical license (non-compact).
- ACLS and ATLS certifications.
