Hematology/Oncology Physician

Coverage Needed

• Start Date: July 27, 2026
• End Date: Ongoing - minimum 6-month commitment
• Schedule: Full time, 5 days per week in clinic, starts at 8a, 30 minute lunch included, 8 hour clinic days
  • Night Call: 10 days/month, 4:15 PM - 8:00 AM
  • 24 Hour Weekend Call: 2 weekends per month

Clinical Details

• Consulting services only in the hospital, Hospitalist does admissions
• Average 15 patients per day in clinic
• 60% Hematology/ 40% Oncology
• Rural community setting
• Adult patients
• Established patient panel already in place
• First patient scheduled at 8:15/8:30 AM
• Last patient scheduled at 3:30 PM
• Call type: Inpatient + phone call coverage
  • Call rotation: 1:2
  • Typically 2-3 patient calls between 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Rarely receive calls after 9:00 PM
• Covers ER and hospital team
• Provider expected to see: Solid tumor oncology, Benign hematology, Malignant hematology, Infusion & Treatment
• 14-chair infusion center onsite
• 2-bed infusion room
• Support Staff: Oncology-certified nursing staff, 1.3 Hem/Onc physicians onsite, 3 APPs, Onsite pharmacist support
• Radiation Oncology located onsite
• EMR: Epic
• Participation in disease-specific and general tumor boards

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology
• Active PA License or IMLC LOQ in hand
• DEA
• Minimum 1 year experience
• Temporary privileges available for clean files
