Job description

Coverage Needed

  • Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Clinical Details

  • Setting: General Acute Care Hospital (Stroke Certified)
  • Duties: Hospital Coverage, including IR needs, Stroke CTs, and other procedures
    • Potential coverage for outpatient building for contrasted CTs, MRIs, and Breast biopsies
  • Required Procedures: Lumbar punctures, barium studies, various centesis exams with drains, CT/US biopsies preferred
  • IR Procedures: Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy Tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest Tubes, Suprapubic Catheters; Biopsies (Thyroid, Lung, Other)
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Support Staff: Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology) Nurses and Techs; Large Radiology group for overflow and after-hours reads
  • Admissions per day: 12-15
  • Patients/day: ED Daily Volume is 85-90 patients/day
  • Average Daily Inpatient/Obs Census: 50 patients (includes ICU and OB)
  • Types of cases: Surgical, Medical, ICU, and OB
  • Expected studies and procedures per day: 50 studies/day + 4-6 procedures/day
    • Breakdown of Daily Work: CTs: 12-15, X-rays: 15-20, Ultrasounds: 8-12, IR Procedures: 4-6 (predominantly non-complex IR, Vast majority of exams are percutaneous (i.e. biopsies, drains, aspirations,etc.) with some infrequent tunneled (i.e. pleurex catheter placement, CV Access)

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • CA License
  • Residency Requirement
  • Other Certifications: BLS and DEA required during credentialing; CA Fluoroscopy required at submission
  • Malpractice: Clean preferred
