Job Opportunity: Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Springfield, OH
We are currently seeking a dedicated Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgeon for locum tenens coverage at a full-service acute care hospital in Springfield, Ohio. This facility is well-equipped with 250 total beds, including 60 ICU beds, and offers a supportive practice environment with an onsite lab and x-ray services. You'll have the opportunity to work with a team of qualified professionals, including 1 physician and 2 mid-level providers, while utilizing an advanced documentation system, EPIC.
Responsibilities:
- Provide surgical coverage for general CV/Thoracic/Vascular surgeries.
- Perform coronary artery bypass surgery and manage congenital defects.
- Conduct valvular repair/replacements and aneurysm repairs.
- Execute lung resections (including VATs) and chest wall/pleural procedures.
- Address esophagus/diaphragm surgical needs and perform endarterectomies (carotid & renal).
- Manage ventilation and bronchoscopy procedures.
- Evaluate and manage acute volume/blood pressure issues.
- Assist in the clinic/office setting during scheduled hours (7 am-4 pm, Mon-Fri).
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery (REQUIRED).
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (REQUIRED).
- Active Ohio state license or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission) (REQUIRED).
- Experience with vascular surgery is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Clean malpractice background is highly preferred.
- Availability for the specified dates outlined in the job description (REQUIRED).
License and Certification Requirements:
- Ohio state medical license.
- Board Certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
