Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Job Purpose
The Physician Assistant (PA), under the supervision of a Physician, is responsible for assisting in the delivery of healthcare and patient care management. The role includes providing a broad range of medical services such as taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, administering treatments (including suturing and minor procedures), monitoring patients, prescribing medications under supervision, assisting physicians, and educating patients on care and treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform medical examinations using standard clinical procedures as part of the care team

  • Observe, assess, and document patient symptoms, reactions, and progress in medical records

  • Apply primary care principles and clinical practice protocols

  • Remain calm and effective in emergency situations and provide appropriate support

  • Maintain knowledge of current medical technologies, techniques, and best practices

  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and infection control standards

Qualifications

Education & Training

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program

  • Current certification as PA or NP

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure

Experience

  • No prior experience required; new graduates are welcome and supported through structured onboarding

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of medical practice, procedures, and patient care protocols

  • Ability to perform and assist with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments

  • Competence in recording vitals and maintaining accurate medical documentation

  • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure and emergency situations

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)

  • Ability to build effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams

  • Proficiency in following clinical guidelines and adapting to protocols

  • Basic understanding of medical arithmetic

Language Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Spanish Required

  • Cultural familiarity with Hispanic communities is a plus

Working Conditions

  • Clinical office environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and medical hazards

  • Requires ability to work under pressure in a diverse healthcare setting

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive clinical tasks

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally

  • Good vision, hearing, and manual dexterity for clinical and documentation tasks

  • Ability to operate medical and office equipment

  • May require occasional travel between locations

  • Must maintain required professional certifications
