Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in New Mexico beginning August 2026. This position offers a combination of outpatient clinic responsibilities and call coverage in a collaborative practice environment with a manageable patient volume and strong clinical support.
The ideal candidate is residency-trained, patient-focused, team-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality women's healthcare. Providers must be eligible to obtain a New Mexico medical license and meet the required privileging criteria.
Coverage is needed for the following dates:
- August 5, 2026, 8:00 AM August 7, 2026, 8:00 AM
- August 20, 2026, 8:00 AM August 23, 2026, 8:00 AM
- August 25, 2026, 8:00 AM August 28, 2026, 7:00 PM
Additional ongoing coverage needs are anticipated throughout 2026.
About the FacilityThis community-based healthcare facility provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services with a focus on patient-centered care. The practice consists of two OB/GYN physicians supported by experienced nursing and clinical staff, including registered nurses, medical assistants, and C-section surgical assistance during call coverage.
Practice highlights include:
- Approximately 8 10 deliveries per month
- Less than 15 clinic patients per day
- 21% C-section rate
- Primarily low-risk obstetric population with occasional high-risk cases
- EPIC electronic medical record system

- Provide comprehensive outpatient OB/GYN clinic services
- Manage routine and high-risk obstetrical patients
- Perform labor and delivery coverage
- Provide inpatient and emergency OB/GYN consultations as needed
- Participate in weekday, overnight, and weekend call coverage
- Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, NSTs, CSTs, and FSEs
- Perform and interpret obstetrical ultrasounds, including viability and targeted anatomical studies
- Perform routine vaginal deliveries and make clinical decisions regarding operative deliveries and cesarean sections
- Manage complicated deliveries, including breech presentations, multiple gestations, and obstetrical emergencies
- Repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations
- Perform gynecologic surgical procedures within the scope of privileges granted
- Document patient encounters using EPIC EMR
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of New Mexico
- Current certification or active participation in the certification process through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with certification achieved within five years
- Ability to provide required case logs for privileging
- Successful completion of required immunization, workforce immunity, and drug screening requirements
Case logs must demonstrate the following within the past 12 months:
- Minimum 50 vaginal deliveries
- Minimum 20 cesarean sections
- Minimum 25 gynecologic surgical procedures
- At least 5 major abdominal surgical cases
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Providers remain on call while working in clinic
- Night call: 5:00 PM 8:00 AM
- Weekend call: Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 8:00 AM
