- Trauma Level I or II experience required
- Comfortable managing high-risk obstetric patients
- Experience with labor and delivery emergencies
- Open to OB/GYN generalists interested in high-risk obstetrics with MFM support

- 24-Hour In-House Hospital Call
- 12-Hour shifts available for providers who prefer shorter coverage
Practice Overview
- OB Hospitalist Float Pool
- Predominantly high-risk obstetric patient population
- No resident supervision
- Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) support available
- No routine gynecology coverage required
- Coverage includes assigned and unassigned obstetric patients as needed
- Collaborative practice environment with additional OB/GYN providers in-house
Patient Volume & Acuity
- Approximately 11-12 deliveries per day
- More than 90% of Maternal Placental Program patients require MFM involvement
- Level II Nursery
- High-acuity maternal and fetal care environment
Clinical Responsibilities
- Labor and delivery coverage
- Management of high-risk pregnancies
- Obstetrical emergencies
- Co-management of complex patients with MFM specialists
- Surgical assistance for C-sections and other obstetrical procedures
- Coverage of unassigned/undoctored OB patients when applicable
- Collaboration with MFM, ICU, and OB/GYN teams
Support & Resources
- Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists available 24/7
- MFM physicians in-house during daytime hours
- MFM call coverage overnight
- Additional OB/GYN physician support always available on-site
- CNM support integrated into workflow
Technology
- EMR: Epic (Excellian)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring: OBIX
Ideal Candidate
- Board-Certified OB/GYN
- Minnesota licensed or eligible through IMLC
- Trauma I or II experience
- Comfortable with high-risk obstetrics and labor & delivery emergencies
- Team-oriented and collaborative with MFM specialists
- Interested in ongoing, flexible hospitalist coverage
