Job description

Location: Arvada, Colorado
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; rotating weekends and holidays. Clinic hours are 8:00 AM 8:00 PM Monday Friday and 9:00 AM 6:00 PM Saturday Sunday.
Compensation: $60 $80/hour, based on experience, plus bonus opportunity

Position Summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner to join our Arvada, Colorado team.

This role is ideal for clinicians who value autonomy, variety, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment. You will care for patients of all ages, manage a broad range of generally low-acuity acute concerns, and work alongside an experienced clinical team with accessible medical leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
  • Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational-health visits
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
  • Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, and incision and drainage, as applicable
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions clearly
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
  • Code and bill services appropriately
  • Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
  • Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Colorado license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • PA: NCCPA certification
  • NP: ANCC or AANP certification; FNP required
  • Active DEA license or ability to obtain
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages
  • Active BLS certification
  • EHR proficiency
  • Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
  • DOT certification or willingness to obtain; fees covered
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
  • Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care
  • Experience with initial x-ray interpretation before radiology over-read
  • Comfortable working independently in a solo-provider model, with support available as needed
