Position Summary: Responsible for daily Service work. Service Technician position will work on HVAC heating, cooling, boiler, chiller, and refrigeration systems. Responsible for reading and understand blueprints, effective communication with all others, and representing TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Troubleshoot and solve HVAC, hydronic, piping and control problems.
  • Follows up with customers for quality assurance purposes and ensures customers are 100% satisfied.
  • Can work independently with little direction and can solve problems (i.e., contacting factory, engineer, architect, foreman, etc.).
  • Attends, if needed, all job site and office meetings related to assigned projects. Is well prepared to handle issues that may come up. Fills out all forms, revisions, requests for tools/equipment/material that are required for each project.
  • Dependable and able to work in emergency situations when called.
  • Has the ability to identify and locate parts/suppliers.
  • On call as required and fills out the corresponding paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience/Qualifications Required:

o 1-3 years commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.

o Stable work history.

o HVAC license. (KY location only)

o EPA Type 2 or Universal License.

Job Skills:

o Ability to read blueprints.

o Knowledge of general plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration repair and installation.

o Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.

o Able to use all specialty tools including Recovery Machine, Multi Meter, Combustion

Analysis.

o Experience with installing equipment.

o Very strong technical background.

o Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.

o Exceptional communication skills.

o Good organizational skills.

Education:

o High School or GED Equivalent.

o Trade School a plus.

Physical Requirements:

o Eyesight correctable to 20/50.

o Able to work long hours on feet.

o Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.

o Able to perform shift work.

o Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.

o Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

o Must not be afraid of heights.

Special Requirements:

o Valid Driver's License.

o Must provide their own basic hand tools.
