Locum Tenens Transplant Hepatology Physician (Call-Focused) We are seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible Transplant Hepatology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity at a well-established transplant center in Washington. This role is ideal for physicians interested in flexible, call-based coverage within a collaborative, multidisciplinary transplant team.
Position Overview: - Start: ASAP
- Duration: Ongoing
- Schedule: 1 week per month (Monday 8:00 AM Monday 8:00 AM)
- Coverage Type: Call + inpatient consults
- Setting: Inpatient with optional outpatient clinic coverage
Clinical Responsibilities: - Provide inpatient consults for liver transplant patients
- Manage pre- and post-transplant hepatology cases
- Handle phone consults from ERs, outside hospitals, and physicians
- Support immunosuppression management and transplant-related care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary transplant team
- Optional participation in outpatient clinic coverage
Call Details: - Beeper call
- Call coverage for a full 7-day block per month
- Minimal call volume with strong support structure
- Response time expectation: 20 minutes
Practice Environment: - Mix of inpatient and outpatient care
- Average 6 patients per shift
- Supported by experienced clinical staff (RNs, MAs)
- Epic EMR system
Requirements: - Board Certified / Board Eligible in Transplant Hepatology
- Active Washington license or IMLC eligibility
- Experience managing transplant patients and complex hepatology cases
- Comfortable with inpatient consults and call coverage
