PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults
Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 25,000 annual ED visits
Admissions: Approximately 8% admissions or transfers
Case Mix: Broad emergency medicine case mix with most adult subspecialties available except Neurosurgery
FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic
Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment
Specialty Backup Available: Most adult subspecialties available except Neurosurgery
Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Provider coverage from 12p 9p along with nursing and ED support staff
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

REQUIRED PROCEDURES Emergency patient evaluation and stabilization
Airway management and intubation
Suturing and wound management
Fracture stabilization and splinting
Emergency diagnostic evaluation and treatment
JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Louisiana Medical License or willingness to obtain
Board: ABEM, ABIM, or ABFM with Emergency Medicine experience
DEA: Active DEA Certification
Certifications: BLS and ACLS
Experience: Emergency Medicine experience required; EM residency trained physicians considered
Other Qualifications: Fellowship training preferred; board certification preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department
Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning
Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics
Perform emergency procedures as required
Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nurses, and hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the Epic EMR system
