PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

North Carolina Contractor is seeking the right candidates for New Construction and Remodel Projects. We have multiple opportunities to join our team as a Project Superintendent. The Project Superintendent position is primarily responsible for the on-site daily management, supervision, coordination, quality control, safety oversight and successful completion of the construction phase of our projects.

The Project Superintendent must constantly align and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with our Core Values and reports directly to their assigned Project Manager.

  • Eligible candidate must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a commercial Superintendent role.

EXPECTATION OF THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:

  • Oversight of all construction related activities, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Assure that the site and materials are secured daily.
  • Thorough knowledge and maintenance of the project documents, plans and specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge and adherence to contract requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of subcontractor and vendor/supplier contracts.
  • Understand and communicate all project documentation requirements to the subcontractors/suppliers and all project team members.
  • Work with project manager on establishing short-term goals and the overall project plan.
  • Management of Project Schedule, with necessary planning, organization, revisions, and adaptation to meet schedule commitments.
  • Coordination and scheduling of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Advise project manager of any problems in a timely manner, providing detailed situational analysis and potential solutions.
  • Quality Control and adherence to project specifications and requirements.
  • Safety Oversight.
  • Documentation and records of jobsite/construction activities.
  • Establish manpower, tool and equipment needs.
  • Responsible for maintaining job site security and safety.
  • Make sure quality standards are understood and maintained (including subcontractor and suppliers).
  • Work with project manager in defining, procuring, and expediting all long lead time/critical items required for the project (establish delivery/start dates).
  • Work with and assist all local inspectors and governmental/municipal agencies that have jurisdiction over the project and cause same from all subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Accompany all inspectors, consultants, and governmental/municipal agency representatives while they are on site.
  • Maintain job progress photo's, document weekly job site specific safety meetings, daily construction reports, periodic safety and quality inspections and delivery tickets.
  • Maintain project as-builts and cause subcontractors to do the same and review with Project Manager on regular basis.
  • Hold weekly job progress/coordination meetings; issue meeting minutes in cooperation with Project Manager.
  • Responsible for all aspects of on-the-job safety (hard hats, fall protection, clean up, company safety policy, MSDS information, emergency evacuation plan, and all other OSHA regulations).
  • Ensure that all subcontractors maintain, in our office and on site, their company safety policy and hold weekly meetings with all employees and subcontractors on site.
