We are partnering with a client seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant to support a critical reconciliation project. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in unstructured environments and can take large, complex datasets and turn them into clear, actionable insights.
This position will focus on reconciling discrepancies across accounts receivable, cash activity, and financial records, helping bring alignment between internal books and customer records.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze and reconcile large, complex, and often incomplete datasets across AR and cash transactions
- Perform end-to-end reconciliation of invoices, credits, payments, and remittance data
- Investigate and identify discrepancies between internal financial records and customer accounts
- Work with general ledger data, payment journals, and write-off journals to ensure accuracy
- Extract and interpret data from legacy systems and multiple sources
- Clearly document findings, root causes of variances, and recommended resolutions
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve reconciliation issues
- Develop structured approaches to clean and align messy or fragmented financial data
Qualifications:- 3-7+ years of experience in a financial analyst, AR analyst, cash applications, or staff accountant role
- Strong experience working with large data sets, data reconciliation, and financial analysis
- Background in AR, revenue accounting, cash applications, or similar functions preferred (not required to be highly specialized)
- Experience working with legacy systems and navigating incomplete or disorganized data
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with data tools or ERP systems is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify gaps and inconsistencies
- FP&A or data analytics background is a plus
