OB/GYN Hospitalist (Locum/Per Diem) Mishawaka/South Bend, IN

High-Priority Coverage at a Premier Northern Indiana Level III NICU

Are you seeking a high-impact hospitalist role with the flexibility of sporadic or weekend coverage? We are seeking dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalists to join a compassionate, faith-based health system in North Central Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who values clinical excellence and wants to work in a facility equipped with advanced medical technology and a top-tier neonatal unit.

The Opportunity

Join a not-for-profit health system recognized for its commitment to community wellness and high-quality maternal care. This role is strictly inpatient with a focus on comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic emergency management.

  • Clinical Scope: Manage labor and delivery, triage, and OB/GYN emergencies within a high-acuity environment.

  • Specialty Support: Access to a Level III NICU, one of the few in Northern Indiana, ensuring the highest level of care for neonates.

  • Shift Structure: 24-hour in-house shifts. Providers are accommodated in hospital "hotel rooms" and have the flexibility to cover blocks of 2 to 4 days at a time.

  • Schedule: Seeking sporadic coverage and at least one weekend per month.

  • Credentialing: day timeframe; temporary privileges may be available for qualified candidates to ensure a quick start.

Compensation
  • Hourly Rates: Competitive pay starting at $175 - $240 per hour (includes malpractice coverage).

  • Holiday/Overtime: Premium rates apply for holidays and extended shifts.

  • Orientation: Paid at a specialized orientation rate.

Candidate Requirements

To meet the specific needs of this facility and its Level III status, candidates must satisfy the following:

  • Board Certification: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years of residency (ABMS/AOA).

  • Licensure: Active Indiana State Medical License is required at the time of submission.

  • Certifications: Active NRP, PALS, and NCC in Fetal Heart Monitoring are required.

  • Background: A completely clean background and malpractice history is highly preferred.

  • Proximity: Local candidates within driving distance are highly preferred.

  • Documentation: A Self-Query NPDB report (pulled within the last 30 days) is required at the time of presentation.
