Outpatient Cancer Center Maternity Leave Coverage No Call
A healthcare facility in Ohio is seeking a Hematology & Oncology physician for a locum tenens assignment providing outpatient coverage during a maternity leave. This is a structured weekday clinic role within a well-supported cancer center environment.
Position Overview:
- Coverage Dates: 09/01 18/2027
- Schedule: Monday Wednesday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Setting: Outpatient cancer center
- No call, no weekends required
- Coverage for existing provider during maternity leave
Clinical Details:
- Patient population: Adult and Geriatric
- Practice mix: 60% Hematology / 40% Oncology
- Average outpatient volume: 13 patients/day
- Limited inpatient involvement ( 2 patients/day, consult-based)
- Participation in tumor board discussions
Practice Environment:
- Single-physician practice with 1 APP support
- EPIC EMR
- Nurse-led chemotherapy administration
- Level II trauma center affiliation
- Strong oncology nursing and support staff
Responsibilities:
- Outpatient hematology and oncology care
- Patient evaluations and follow-ups
- Ordering and interpreting labs and imaging
- Chemotherapy and treatment management
- Participation in tumor board
Compensation & Travel Support:
- Travel reimbursement available (flight, hotel, rental car)
- Mileage reimbursed per IRS standard rate
Requirements:
- Board Certified Hematology & Oncology (or truly BE considered)
- Active Ohio license preferred
- BLS required
- Clean background required
- Availability confirmation for full assignment period required
- Current NPDB self-query within 30 days of submission
