Hematologist/Oncologist
Position Overview
Seeking a Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologist to provide coverage for an FMLA leave. This position is primarily focused on hematology in a community-based cancer program with both outpatient clinic and inpatient consult responsibilities, along with shared after-hours call.

Monday Friday
Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Shared after-hours call: 5:00 PM 7:00 AM
Call ratio: 1:5 with APP support

Responsibilities
Outpatient hematology and oncology clinic
Inpatient hematology and oncology consultations
Infusion center patient management
Shared after-hours call
Order laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
Prescribe medications and treatment plans
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings
Clinical Focus
Greater than 90% Hematology
Less than 10% Solid Tumor Oncology
Benign Hematology
Malignant Hematology
Community oncology practice (no bone marrow transplant or advanced academic therapies)
Required Procedures
Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA)
Biopsy

6 Hematologist/Oncologists
5 Inpatient APPs covering two hospitals
6 Outpatient APPs
Average inpatient consults: patients/day
Average outpatient clinic: 15 patients/day
Radiation Oncology support available
EMR
Epic
Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology
Active Michigan license strongly preferred (licensure candidates considered)
BLS certification
Additional Information
Adult community hematology practice with a broad mix of benign and malignant hematologic conditions.
Credentialing timeframe is approximately days.
Travel reimbursement includes flight, hotel, rental car, and IRS-standard mileage.
